Sanitation officials,a call away

After several councilors of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) complained about the sanitation department’s poor response to complaints, the civic body has now given sanitation officials mobile sets to make communication between them and councilors easier. Earlier, the MCD had given phones to only junior engineers, but after the new scheme had been implemented recently, more than 3,000 phones were given to sanitary inspectors, health officers, sanitary superintendents and horticulture officers. All officials under the ambit of the scheme are now being given र1,500 per month as phone allowance.
