Effects of chlorine-free disinfectants: A Study

A recent research conducted by UK based Synergy Health highlighted the potential corrosive impact of some chlorine-based disinfectants. According to Synergy Health, the chlorine based disinfectants could result in infection risk as well as expense in replacing damaged equipment.

The study tested the corrosive impact of hypochlorite cleaning solutions and the chlorine-free disinfectant. The test claimed that the chlorine-based solutions had a major detrimental effect on the stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium alloy and sections of a high performance two-way stretch mattress cover. Whereas the chlorine-free solution had no effect on the stainless steel and mattress cover samples.
