Uniqflux Membranes LLP, a Pune based firm has established a Thin Film Composite Reverse Osmosis Membranes production plant in Pune, the first-ever in India. The plant will manufacture high-end technology membranes having wider applications in social, medical and industrial fields for water treatment and other areas.
The modules prepared using these membranes exhibit exceptionally high rejection of bacteria, virus and cysts & reduce the high concentration of salts along with heavy metals like Arsenic, Cobalt, Lead, and Mercury etc., besides giving water that is crystal clear. “The technology has been licensed from the Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, a national laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi. CSMCRI has developed technologies for manufacturing ultra-filtration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO)membranes. Uniqflux production will cut both the dependency cost and foreign exchange for the Industry,” said Rahul Pathak, Managing Director of Uniqflux Membranes LLP.
