The twentieth edition of Pulire Verona (May 24-26), played host to 290 exhibitors, in five exhibition halls spread over 16,000sqmt at Verona Fiere. The fact that 76% of exhibitors are from Italy, confirmed the importance of this event for the Italian economy. The numbers of foreign exhibitors has been growing steadily, now accounting for 24%. Most of the foreign exhibitors were from Germany and Spain, with a delegation from Turkey, which has become a key conduit for trade with the Middle East. There was also a number of exhibitors from China, Brazil, Russia and the United States. There has been an increased participation from manufacturers of paper and derivative products, which may not have their core business in this area, but have seen the opportunities related to investing in this market. On the rise are industrial laundries and solutions for outdoor surface cleaning, and unusual areas, such as cleaning railcars.
Promoted by Afidamp FAB and organized by Afidamp Servizi, the event has grown to provide maximum exposure to the best of the Italian Cleaning Industry. Adding to the global presence of the Pulire brand a, new event in Spain – Hygienalia +Pulire – was announced during the show. This event to be hosted at Feria Valencia from January 31 to February 2, 2012, is the result of the coming together of Afidamp Servizi, Reed Exhibition, Iberia, Asfel (Spanish Manufacturers of Cleaning and Hygiene Products) and Feria Valencia. Toni D’Andrea, Managing Director of Afidamp Servizi said that the decision to hold the event in Valencia was made to take advantage of an advanced, progressive exhibition centre, with the largest exhibition space in Spain and one of the top eights in Europe.
The event highlighted the need to take care of our environment with our cleaning processes and products. Many exhibitors put sustainability criteria while showcasing their equipment and chemicals. As the trend was set, two awards were to be won – one dedicated to green technology and other one for clean innovation in three categories, equipment, machines and chemicals. The technical press jury was awarded to IPC’s Hydro Tube.
The Innovation Award is now in its seventh edition and wanted to rewards companies that have made the effort in research, innovation and development, to offer solutions to the market really new or new approaches to issues of professional cleaning industry, with the aim to improve more in terms of functionality, quality, safety and efficacy of new proposals.
For the ‘Chemical Products’ category expert from the Italian and International press choose Genesis Biosciences with its Biosan E-Card. It is an innovation in feminine waste disposal, developed though combining existing vapour release technology with a blend of natural biocidal compounds and a biodegradable wood pulp based card carrier, to give a highly effective, long lasting and eco-friendly feminine waste unit sanitizer.
In the ‘Machinery’ category the winner was Ar-Co Chimica SRL with its Gynius Box. This incorporates software that factors in the cost of detergents, mops and cloths and delivers to the cleaner, ready-to-use chemical in a controlled dilution through the Dilution Control System. The Clean Green Awards were bagged by Vileda Professional(equipment category), AR-CO Chimica with Gynius Ecolabel (chemical category), and Karcher- T12/1eco efficiency (machine category).
Some of the interesting innovative exhibits were Polti’s back pack steam cleaner, Unger’s Ninja squeegee, Diversey Taski’s Swingo Scrubber, Klindex’s stone polishing machine and Macro’s ride-on scrubber drier/sweeper which received a special mention at the awards.
Verona regulars said that the arrangement of the halls allowed a recommended route helping the visitors not to miss out on any booths. “The number of visitor exceeded our expectations”, said Toni D’Andrea. The success of the event was also due to the vertical expansion into new sections.
