Re Sustainability and Recycling Private Limited (ReSRL) and Aarti Circularity Limited (ACL) have partnered to establish a waste management infrastructure that will transform plastic recycling in India. With an initial investment of Rs100 crores, the first Plastic Materials Recycling Facility (PMRF) in Hyderabad will focus on waste segregation, extraction, and resource recovery, producing Advanced Circular Materials (ACM) for use as raw materials, fuels, or recycled polymer feedstock. By 2030, the partnership aims to achieve a minimum recovery capacity of 500 tonnes per day, significantly advancing sustainable resource management.
This strategic joint venture will leverage advanced technologies and industry expertise to set new benchmarks in India’s recycling sector. The first facility is expected to be operational within 15 to 18 months, with the JVCo targeting a turnover of Rs5000 crores in the next five years. By processing 200 tonnes of municipal waste to extract every 100 tonnes of ACMs, the initiative will play a crucial role in tackling India’s plastic waste challenges while promoting waste segregation and circular economy principles.
With Re Sustainability collecting 9 million tonnes of waste annually and recycling 9 lakh tonnes of plastic waste, this collaboration will drive scalable waste management solutions. “This milestone partnership combines our expertise in waste management infrastructure with Aarti Industries’ legacy in speciality chemicals to create innovative, sustainable solutions,” said Masood Mallick, CEO of Re Sustainability. Mirik Gogri, Director of ACL, emphasized the partnership’s role in minimizing waste generation, reducing reliance on virgin resources, and fostering a circular economy.
