A recent survey carried out by the Western Railway has indicated that the men’s toilet at Churchgate’s main concourse could well be amongst the most used in the world. In a span of five minutes, about 200 men used total of 37 urinals and six toilet cubicles.
The average time spent in the toilet by an individual was two minutes. Consequently, the Western Railways has raised the frequency of the automatic water dispensing device used to cleanse the toilets from once in 15 minutes to every five minutes.

Western Railway has also planned to install heavy-duty fragrance dispenser soon. The officials have also promised for proper working of the large exhaust fans to tackle the stench that wafts right through to the eating outlets on the concourse.
