Fine for dumping garbage

Soon, Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) will slap a fine of र 50 on those dumping garbage on the roads and र 25 on those who drop garbage around the dustbin. Businessmen and showroom owners who throw waste will attract a fine of र 50 per day. The corporation recently embarked on modernisation of drainage by renovating 30km of the 240km of drains spread across the city. The Municipal Commissioner has appealed to the public not to throw garbage into the sewer lines as it could lead to clogging of the whole drainage system.
