Gala Brush in association with Times Red Cell, has started a cleanliness drive – Clean-a-thon – to create awareness at the grassroots level. About 20 Housing Societies took part in the drive hosted in Mumbai on Sunday, June 10. The competition was judged by TV Artistes Debina Bonnerjee and Reshmi Ghosh on 20 aspects including ventilation, maintenance of entrance, dust on flat surfaces, management of dry & wet garbage, peeling paint, bathroom cleanliness, electrical arrangement and first aid.
Five households were shortlisted in each of the four societies at Kandivali, Malad, Mulund and Thane. Speaking to Clean India Journal, Sanket Gala, Sales Manager, Freudenberg Gala Household Products Pvt Ltd, said, “The aim of the cleanliness drive is to mobilise support from housing societies to take up cleanliness as a prime responsibility. TV Stars acknowledging the initiative has helped influence households to relate to it.”
“Cleanliness starts from home to help the environment clean and the initiative has been successful in implementing it,” added Debina Bonnerjee. The winners were given gift hampers comprising PVA Mops, Scourers, Kitchen Wipes and Toilet Brushes.
