Started in year 2000, Mumbai based Alert Private Services (APS) is an integrated facilities management company offering an array of customised services like housekeeping, electrical & mechanical maintenance, HVAC (Operations & Maintenance), pest control, operations & maintenance of ETP/STP/WTP (effluent, sewage & water treatment plants), administration support and facade & glass cleaning.

Salim Shaikh, Managing Director, says, “Alert has 1600 workforce providing an array of housekeeping services in places like MIDC’s head office Udyog Sarathi, MMRDA’s head office and residential colony, MMTC at Kurla, Mahananda Dairy and SEEPZ. We also provide housekeeping services to Vidhan Bhawan but the important service there being the carpet cleaning.”

Besides important government offices, APS also provides housekeeping services to commercial complexes like Acruti Trade Center and Acruti Star in Mumbai. Salim says, “There are differences in providing services to government and private sector. Unlike the private sector, maintaining the government offices are difficult because there are guthka stains and beetle-nut juice spat on the walls, which are very difficult to remove. We have specially procured stain remover called “All-in-one,” supplied by a Punjab based company. Toilet cleaning is also a major issue in the government offices. We found that the level of cleanliness and hygiene is very low in this sector. Therefore, we have scheduled deep-cleaning on Saturdays and Sundays.”

Alert has around 20-25 scrubber driers, 15 wet & dry vacuums, eight auto-scrubbers, 12 high-pressure jets and 20 glass cleaning kits for façade.
