Sweeping Changes

A bureaucrat’s fetish for cleanliness has given the Ministry of Steel at Udyog Bhavan a much required face-lift. Dr Dalip Singh, a 1982 batch Haryana cadre officer, who is behind this impressive beauty treatment, cannot stand dirt at the office. He has initiated a drive at the Ministry, often personally meeting the staff in-charge of sweeping. A Deputy Secretary also meets the sweepers every Tuesday to recognise their work. This time for sure, the sweepers are not complaining.
