Housekeeping Olympics

The 10th annual Iron Range Housekeeping Olympics recently concluded successfully at the AmericInn Lodge & Suites. Teams of housekeepers from 13 regional motels of USA contested in four events – bed-stripping and making, linen folding, laundry stacking and the obstacle course. While all the contesters received a T-shirt and door prizes, the winning team received jackets touting them as the 2014 Iron Range Housekeeping Olympics gold medal winners. Diane Sandvig, general manager of the Hibbing Park Hotel said, “Being part of this event since its inception has generated a lot of great memories for me, and it never fails to help me appreciate the great work of our area housekeepers do and It’s great to see the pride of our housekeepers have in their jobs, and the friendly rivalries that have grown between properties.”
