Tanishka Products, a Mumbai based specialty chemicals company has won the “5th National Award for Technology Innovation 2015” from Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India, for various innovative solutions in Control Release through MF Polymer Encapsulation. Vineet Mital, MD-Tanishka Products said, “Cost efficiency, reduction of environment footprint & customized delivery of actives is the need of the day. All of this can be achieved with controlled release solutions. However, these have been very expensive as they are imported into India with all know how controlled by MNCs.” Having done its extensive R&D over the subject matter, Tanishka Products has not only created micro capsules with MF polymers to help in controlled release of various actives but also has done final product development and made ready-to-use cost effective products.
The capsules are immobilized on fabric, hair, paper and hard surfaces. Therefore, they provide controlled release of the active without causing toxicity or harm to the users or to the environment. The application itself has better sustainability as the active dosage itself can be reduced due to highly targeted delivery. Natural actives which degrade quickly can be advantageously used as an advantage in this technique.
The two products that were appreciated by the National Award Committee were Anti-bacterial Dry Tissue Paper- Low Cost solution for Anti-TB Program and Mosquito Repellant Finishes (Clothing /Paint).
