In a bid to promote the Swacch Bharat initiatives, the ministry of Urban Development will soon launch an ‘Asli Tarakki (Real development)’ a 4.70 cr campaign involving 23,400 man days work that is focussed on communicating the importance of good sanitary practises. The ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nehru Yuvak Kendra in the presence of Minister of Urban Development Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu and Minister of State for Urban Development Shri Rao Inderjit Singh. Accordingly, 50 young, charismatic men who are good in public speaking and communication skills will address the public on 52 days and create awareness about sanitation in each of the five municipal areas of Delhi (NDMC, NMCD, SMCD, EMCD and Delhi Cantonment), Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Noida. A two day orientation workshop will prepare them for the arty and entertaining components of the campaign. The most important message would be about using toilets and the public feedback on the ‘Swachh Survekshan-2017’ that was launched earlier this month. Four decorated charriots with banners and posters with facilities for screening audio visuals will be on the roads. And the youth will engage in elocution, cultural performances, nukkad nataks to propagate the message and will also use social media. Swachh Bharat Urban portal will give weekly updates on the reach of the campaign.
