In order to accomplish litter-free, clean streets and to augment Madurai’s cityscape, the Corporation has launched a ‘Mass Cleaning Programme’. The programme envisages identifying each zone under the Corporation limits for garbage removal every Saturday in a week. The CM had also announced an award for the ‘Best Corporation’ and keeping that in mind, Madurai Corporation has initiated the mass cleaning programme of the Vaigai Bed to make it a litter-free zone.
