Preventing infestation in dustbins

US based innovator Tim Deasy has developed a new solution – Fly Erase Pest Strip – to prevent dustbins from being infested with flies and maggots. The strip can be securely attached to the inner lid of any garbage bin and it keeps the flies away for about four months.

Constructed of resin plastic impregnated with DDVP (2, 2-Dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate), Fly Erase Strips are easy-to-use and may be applied for lasting control of many crawling and flying pests. The unique Fly Erase adhesive cage enables attachment on the underside of trash lids, where the slow release of vapours can control flies and fly larvae (maggots). The strip works through vapour action. Vapours emerging from the strip slowly control pests. DDVP is the active ingredient in Fly Erase strips.
