Sanitation through a Toilet Garden

Ahmedabad, India: A garden-cafe having a theme of a toilet is focused on promoting worldwide sanitation and spread awareness about the need for personal hygiene. The Toilet Garden Cafe welcomes up to 30 people and is open twice a week for the public.

People visiting the garden sit on a commode to enjoy a cup of coffee while reading interesting stories related to sanitation on the walls. Each person receives two rupees for their contribution towards encouraging sanitation.

Prime minister Narendra Modi launched a Swachh Bharat campaign to clean up India by October 2, 2019. Furthermore, the government also intends to bring about the necessary changes regarding open defecation.
