Aquatech awarded desalination contract

The US based Aquatech International Corporation is a global leader in water purification technology for industrial and infrastructure markets with a focus on desalination, water reuse and zero liquid discharge. The company has been awarded a contract to design, build, and operate a seawater desalination plant for Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) at Mundra in Coastal Gujarat. It is targeting to produce 12 MLD of treated water by November 2009 and to commission the entire SWRO plant by mid 2010. The 4,000 MW coal fired plant is owned by Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL), a Tata Power group company.
