Garbage chutes

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to install garbage chutes made of rubber or a synthetic fibre to keep the narrow inaccessible space between buildings, known as house gullies, clean. The chute will pass through every floor along the railings and will end with the garbage bin on the ground floor. People can throw garbage into the chute’s opening on their floor and it will be collected by the civic body’s conservancy staff from the ground floor.
