Jhansi to outsource railway cleaning

North-Central Railway at Jhansi is planning to outsource mechanised cleaning, drying and pressing of bed roll items for AC coaches of Jhansi & Gwalior station. The frequency for washing bed sheets, pillow covers and face towels will be done on per trip basis.

The dry cleaning of blanket will be done on a monthly basis and curtains will be washed every fortnight. North Central Railway had earlier outsourced the job of mechanised cleaning to Delhi based Vishakha Enterprises.

Specific guidelines have been laid down for the contractor in the use of eco-friendly packaging of bed rolls items in sealed paper bags and transportation to the storage depot/train & vice versa in proper canvas bags.
