Shri Patil, an engineer, has served in the Ministry of Maharashtra as the youngest Minister in Finance for a long tenure of nine years, besides Home and now Rural Development. He has been instrumental in the eco-village and environmental projects wherein he has promoted sanitation in the villages and planted over nine crore trees for the past three and half years.
Patil said, “I am delighted being here. I have been living in this city for a long time but this show is one of its kinds, where the entire focus is cleanliness – keeping floors clean, recycling waste and thus improving the eco-friendliness quotient.” In India majority don’t have toilets in their homes. There is lack of knowledge and equipment for waste recycling . Roads and civic places are not maintained up to the required standards, “ We have planted more than 9.2 cores of plants across the state, taking other necessary steps to establish eco-friendly villages. Clean India Pulire will help provide the appropriate ideas to recycle rural as well as urban waste separately. Some of the technologies and equipment present here can really make a difference in keeping the city clean and green.”
