VATECH WABAG LIMITED (WABAG), a leading multinational pure-play water technology company has designed and built a drinking water treatment plant for Voluntary Health Services (VHS), a multi-specialty hospital & research institute in Chennai, which has been serving the needs of the underprivileged for over 60 years as a non-profit healthcare service provider.
This plant, with a capacity of purifying 600 litres of water per hour through Reverse Osmosis, has been developed to cater to the drinking water needs of various divisions of the hospital like Operation Theatres, Senior Citizen Centre, Eye Department, Diabetic Department and Admin Block. Over 1,000 patients, doctors and staff members are benefiting from this project on a daily basis.
Commenting on this project, Dr S. Suresh, Honorary Secretary – Voluntary Health Services said, “At VHS, availability of ready access to drinking water has always been a critical challenge. Considering the hospital environment, access to consistently clean drinking water becomes a foremost necessity for our day-to-day operations. With this initiative, WABAG has contributed to the well-being of thousands of people”.
