Water fountains to waterfalls

The 82 water fountains installed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in various areas of the city do not function. Instead, they have become garbage bins and breeding ground for mosquitoes. There is either technical problem or there is no maintenance. According to AMC authorities, plans are afoot to change the existing fountains into waterfalls to cut annual maintenance cost.
