Middle East Cleaning and hygiene Industry witnesses’ unprecedented growth ahead of 2nd CMEP Expo, as the industry is set to grow a staggering 275% by the year 2020.

The CMEP Expo 2014 is set to play host to almost all the pillars that hold the cleaning and facilities management industry together. Major companies ranging from cleaning equipment and machinery, cleaning tools, industrial strength chemical products, waste disposal mechanisms, laundry products, and washroom solutions will be exhibiting at CMEP 2014.

“CMEP Expo’s reach has grown to incorporate companies from different parts of the world that include UAE, Italy, China, India, Turkey, Pakistan, Germany, Lebanon, Belgium, UK, USA and Malaysia; with the exhibitors displaying a total of 120 brands collectively. As organisers, it gives us immense joy to provide the platform for so many brands to come on a common floor and discuss their solutions face-to-face,” said the organiser of the Expo Jayaraman Nair, chairman, Virtual Info Systems.

A footfall of over 4,000 attendees is expected over the 3 day event, and visitors to the exhibition can also attend the dedicated International Cleaning and Hygiene Conferences (ICHC). A large number of attendees have pre-registered for the event. Whereas the ICHC will stage several high profile speakers from all over the world, representing reputed brand names such as Emrill FM, Jancoa Janitorial Services USA, Ecolab USA and the likes.

Meanwhile, the Clean Middle East Expo is all set to recognize the ‘difference makers’ in the hospitality industry. The expo, which is to be held from October 21st to 23rd, 2014 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, is expecting a record participation with a healthy number of nominations received for the Excellence Awards 2014.

“It is extremely important for us to recognize the efforts of the front and back office staff. They are the backbone of the industry, and need to be motivated; hence, these awards will be a nice way of giving back,” commented Tatjana Ahmed, housekeeping manager, Grand Hyatt, who is also the chairlady of the UAE Professional Housekeepers Group.

The Excellence awards will incorporate four categories; Team Leader BOH, Team Leader FOH, Room Attendant and Public Area Attendant. Winners will walk away with a cash prize and a certificate. This year’s exhibition is 30% larger than the previous edition.

“Dubai is strategizing to be one of the world’s most sustainable cities by 2020. The integrated strategic master plan for a sustainable waste management system in Dubai is the department’s most ambitious project, which is now fully approved and all set for implementation. The plan provides a structure for waste management in Dubai until 2030 and will be based on certain key performance indicators (KPIs), which enhance the concept of waste as a resource as they divert waste from landfills to recycling and energy recovery,” divulged Abdulmajeed Saifaie, director of waste management department, Dubai Municipality.

Also, present at the press conference was Ali AlSuwaidi, Board Member, MEFMA, Bryan Poole, Assistant VP Global Corporate Accounts Institutional MEA, Ecolab, along with Sunil Kumar, Operations Manager of Tanzifco Emirates.
