Reusable Garbage bags

Chennai Corporation is set to use specially-designed reusable bags for garbage collection. These bags will be collected by conservancy workers and taken on tricycles to garbage enclosures set up by the civic body. The trucks will then transport the bags to the dumping ground. This system will not only encourage at source segregation but will also help in keeping the areas near the garbage bins clean. A study had found out that rag pickers routinely strew garbage on the roads to facilitate easy identification of recyclable materials.
