Uttar Pradesh has always been in the forefront in the area of industrial development. During the 10th, 11th and 12th Five Year Plan, the industrial growth rate was 9.4, 11.8 & 10.9% respectively. To meet the challenges and target GSDP, the State has made huge investments in the industry sector along with up-gradation of existing technology and modernization as well as creation of world class infrastructure. The fast growth in all fronts in UP offers new markets for the cleaning Industry.
One of the most diverse States of India, UP is home to a number of Industries including engineering, electronics, electrical equipment, cables, steel, leather, textiles, jewellery, frigates, automobiles, railway coaches, locomotives and wagons. With 12% of over 2.3 million units, the State is home to largest number of smallscale industrial units than in any other state. With 359 manufacturing clusters cement is top sector of SMEs in UP.
The State has contributed 8.1% to the GDP of India in F.Y. 2009-10 as the country’s second largest economy . The tertiary sector has been major contributor to the GSDP, followed by the primary sector and the secondary sector. In order to further enhance industrialization in the State, the government is continuously improving infrastructure facilities by providing speedy transportation of goods by constructing expressways,up-gradation of highways, and more availability of power to the industrial units.
The PPP model has also been adopted by the State in various sectors like road sector, power sector, and urban rejuvenation. Uttar Pradesh proposes to bring investment through PPP mode worth `2,64,204 crores in the 12th Five Year Plan. As per a FICCI report on status of PPP projects in the country, Uttar Pradesh is amongst the top five states of the country in the implementation of PPP Projects.
Once a home to powerful empires, Uttar Pradesh is now the most popular tourist destination of India… the holy river Ganga; temples in Varanasi; the most wonderful monument in the world, the Taj Mahal in Agra; Bara Imambara in Lucknow; Lord Krishna’s birthplace in Mathura… the list is endless. Registering largest footfall of foreign tourists, there is a high demand to maintain the cleanliness & hygiene as per international standards. This makes UP the most diverse state, offering a potential market for professional cleaning and waste management.
An investment of `42,942 crores has already been generated through part implementation of Yamuna Expressways, Municipal Solid Waste Management Projects and some
of the power projects. The State government is building a 6-lane Agra-Lucknow expressway to connect the State capital with national capital through linking it to Yamuna Expressway.
The State provides a goodeducational facilities with 57 Universities, over 3000 colleges and around 100 Technical Institutions. The availability of skilled manpower provides best suitable environment to FM service providers as well.
Infrastructure Facilities
So far 56 proposals for Special Economic Zones have been recommended by the U.P. Government to Government of India. Out of these proposals, 21 SEZs have been Notified, Formal approval to 34 SEZs and in -principle approval to one SEZ have been granted by the Central Government. The operational SEZs are Multi Product SEZ Noida Moser Baer India, NIIT Technologies Wipro Limited, Aactivis Softech, HCL Technologies and Seaview Developers Ltd.

Integrated Industrial Township has been developed over 1600 acres land in Ghaziabad, where land is available for industrial, residential, institutional and commercial sectors.
Growth Centres
Growth Centres at Shahjhanpur, Jainpur (Kanpur Dehat), Jhansi, Dibiyapur (Auraiya) have been completed. These Centres have industrial, residential and commercial sectors. Different sizes of plots have been developed to accommodate small/tiny, medium and large scale industrial units at attractive rates.
