Fast disintegrating tissues for airport

T3 of IGI Airport in New Delhi has recently installed EcoGreen Health & Hygiene Pvt. Ltd’s toilet tissues on a pilot basis in its washrooms. After studying the disintegration of different types of toilet tissue paper in water, EcoGreen tissues have been found to disintegrate within 10-20 seconds in water.

Speaking to Clean India Journal, Gajendra Rajpoot, Managing Director of EcoGreen, said that the tissues getting flushed down the airport toilets with the periodic influx of passengers has led to frequent choke ups and plumbing issues. “We studied the various types of toilet paper base sheets for disintegration in water including two-ply virgin toilet papers from various paper mills. Disintegration times varied greatly between different products, from a matter of minutes to well over five days. But we found this 17GSM virgin base sheet best among all and used the same in our toilet tissues.”
