Smart Washrooms 5 Air-care Systems

An aerosol spray enchanced with deodourizer properties is effective and can eliminate bad odour in shorter time – James Wong

Restroom odour is a serious problem because most of the restrooms tend to have very poor airflow and a great deal of moisture. So little wonder that odour control is such a widespread problem. In most restrooms, odour results from the presence of urine. This odour actually arises from bacteria that grow on urine, and so does the odour. The germs one associates with toilets, the images and the fact that one has to clean it – all leave the image of a toilet rather gruesome.

Many washrooms fail to provide a clean smelling environment, leaving a lasting impression on the visitors because of lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. In a recent survey in the US, it was found that the most essential requirement in a washroom was to create a clean and fresh smelling environment. This reinforces the fact that a washroom needs a clean and pleasant environment.

There are two methods of controlling odour, one is by masking the smell by introducing a pleasant odour and the other by neutralising the smell by attacking the odour at source and in turn rendering a more pleasant smell. Toilet smell is a sign of contamination and improper sanitation can lead to bacterial build up, illness and even diseases. Restrooms should always be kept clean just like any other room and must be well maintained.

Often overlooked, air cleaning systems are essential in the elimination of unpleasant odours. An odour control system can help make washroom environment smell clean, fresh, and pleasant. This air care system is not for just toilet areas but there is an increasing demand for other areas too.

There are many types of fresheners available in the market, including freshener sprays, trigger sprayers, metered dispensers, automatic odour control systems, fan dispensers, aerosol cans, dry deodorants, liquid deodorants, and gel packs. No matter what you have to deodorize – a home, office or public restroom – there are products available in varieties to meet the needs. James Wong, Managing Director of Nozomi Marketing says, “If you are using anti-bacteria aerosol spray, it can kill up to 99.99% germs and bacteria in the washroom. An aerosol spray enhanced with deodourizer properties is effective and can eliminate bad odour in shorter time.”

In odour-control systems, the aerosol air-freshener is considered to be the most convenient because they are portable; they do not need batteries or electricity, and are suitable for household, office, trailer, hotel, vehicle, boat and even for car. Liquid deodorants and gel packs are also ways to continuously deodorize the air. These types of deodorants are for use in dispensers, and they fill the air with a fresh fragrance.

The aerosol air freshening system uses smart chip technology to provide reliable and customised dispensing of odour control fragrances. These aerosols provide odour control properties with clean fresh scents that permeate the air with subtle fragrances and reassure washroom users that the room is clean, safe and comfortable.

For healthcare facilities, educational institutions, nursing homes, hotels, schools, restaurants and other public buildings, trigger sprayers such as the automatic odour control systems and metered dispensers are useful for keeping the rooms/restrooms smell fresh. For larger homes and small businesses, metered aerosol dispensers and refills are most suitable. These aerosols keep the rooms constantly smelling fresh with a constant supply of air freshener refills. Then there are fan dispensers, such as the Automatic Odour Control Freshener System, which is a portable fan dispenser that takes refillable Fragrance Cassettes to fill the air with a clean, fresh scent. Fan dispensers provide long-lasting and effective odour control for public restrooms, hospitals, nursing homes and commercial buildings.

Mazhr Topiwala, Proprietor of Mazaf International comments, “An air freshener is designed to mask or remove unpleasant room odours. Today, concepts /technologies like Air Revitalizer & Aromatherapy essences are also slowly entering the market. This system is durable and an economic alternative that elevates the luxury of a physical space.”

Cleaning toilets isn’t exactly glamorous, but its importance cannot be ignored. It requires a good deal of knowledge and skill. Right products, combined with a thoughtful, workable system and good education can be an effective defence against foul washroom odours.
