The aviation sector is witnessing exponential growth with 713 planes flying out from 149 airports and plans to add more than 70 airports in the next five to seven years. With a `100,000 crore capex plan and leading carriers ordering another 1000 new aircrafts, to fly the Indian & international skies, this segment reflects a vast potential for the cleaning & facility management services for 2024-30. The air passenger traffic that stood at six crores per annum a decade ago has grown by 130%. Rollout of air connectivity to Tier II, III cities under Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme has been spread across 517 new routes.
Driven to meet sustainability and ESG goals, the infrastructures of the new modern airports have altered the dynamics of regular upkeep of the facility. Airport running busy 24/7, also demands cleaning and facility management to engage smart technologies and automation with only essential human interventions. Demand for monitoring, auditing, real time data analysis and robotics have made it possible for the cleaning and hygiene industry to create innovative products to meet the rising demand in this space.
