This Ganpati festival, devotees may see a lot of eco-friendly idols. The idol, a mix of clay, fig tree juice, paper and glue, is a brainchild of Sindhudurg based sculptor Pramod Palav. The idol is believed to get dissolved in water in less than 15min compared to the traditional “Plaster of Paris” idols. The eco-friendly idol is certified by the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI).
